Year 1 Phonics Screening Check
When schools returned to full opening in September 2020, the pupils who had missed the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check took the test as Year 2s during the second half of the Autumn Term.
88% of the cohort of 17 children achieved the expected standard. This was above the national average of 82% (2019)

Attainment at Semley School was above the national figure:
- 72% reached the expected standard for Reading, Writing & Maths Combined (National = 65%)
- In reading, attainment was above the national figure: 89% at expected or higher (National = 73%)
- In writing, attainment was above the national figure: 83% at expected or higher (National = 78%)
- In maths, attainment was above the national figure: 83% at expected or higher (National = 79%)
- In Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling, attainment was equal to the national figure: 78% at expected or higher (National = 78%)
