What is sport premium?
The PE and sport premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils.
It is up to the school to choose how they use the money on improving their provision of PE. suggested uses are listed below:
- Hire professional sports coaches to support staff when delivering skills lessons.
- Additional and new sports clubs
- Professional development for staff
- Increasing sport competitions and opportunities
- Buying specialist sports equipment.

Swimming data for children Year 6 2022-2023
Schools are now required to publish how many pupils within their year 6 cohort are meeting the national curriculum requirement to swim competently, confidently and proficiently and perform safe self-rescue in different water based situations. (DfeE, 2017).
The data below relates to the Year 6 cohort for 2021-22.
