Welcome to the Semley Church of England Primary School website.
At Semley we believe that each child is special and we value their unique gifts and talents, celebrating diversity, individuality and creativity. We believe that every child should be given the encouragement and the opportunity to shine, to achieve as best they can, and most of all, to enjoy learning.
At Semley School we are committed to providing a broad and varied range of experiences and opportunities in a caring and nurturing environment. As well as focussing on the core skills of literacy and numeracy, we have high expectations of behaviour and attitude to learning, developing self-respect and respect for others. We want our children to leave us as well rounded individuals who love learning and have the confidence and skills to face new challenges.
We value the children’s ideas and opinions, and they have an important say in the things that go on in our school. We encourage our children to take responsibility for themselves, but also to think of others, for example they have organized fundraising events for charity and instigated changes to improve playtimes and lunchtimes. They learn discrete subject knowledge and skills through carefully organised curriculum progression, while our topic-based creative curriculum enables pupils to make meaningful links across subjects.
Our Christian ethos underpins our daily life at Semley School, and we use our school values of ‘aspiration’, ‘respect’, ‘adventure’ and ‘wonder’ to inspire each child to value and make the most of life's opportunities.
I am very proud to be the headteacher of Semley School and I hope that this website will give you a flavour of our vibrant and happy school. Please contact us if you would like any further information, or if you would like to come and visit I would be very pleased to show you around.
